I am not vegan. But I do love cookies!!
I am vegetarian so I love that I can get some extra protein while eating a cookie.
Thanks to NuGo Nutrition you can enjoy their new protein cookies whether you are vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, or just a cookie lover!
They come in 4 flavors.
Dark Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate, Peanut Butter Chocolate, and Oatmeal Raisin.
These cookies are big!!! The package says 2 servings, but let’s be honest…who eats half a cookie?!
Per serving – 190 calories 7F 25C 8P
Obviously I double that because I have no control when it comes to cookies…
These cookies also have 10-12g of fiber per cookie.
No soy, dairy, or egg.
No artificial sweeteners, sugar alcohols, or HFCS.
No palm oil, margarine, trans fat, or cholesterol.
We will start with my favorite.
Double Chocolate! I am usually more of a classic Chocolate Chip Cookie kinda person, but this was definitely the softest of the bunch. Give me soft cookies over crunchy any day!
Lots and lots of dark chocolate chips, nice soft cookie texture, and a not too sweet, but rich chocolate flavor.
Dark Chocolate Chip is up next.
They really do not skimp on the chocolate chips!!
Not quite as soft as the double chocolate cookie, but this one was best when warmed up for about 15 seconds.
Just imagine all those mini chips getting warm and gooey…
You really can’t go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate so I was pretty excited for this next one.
This one was a little more dry, but peanut butter tends to do that.
I loved that they still included the dark chocolate chips! Never been a huge fan of just peanut butter cookies. Call me crazy…
How do you make it better?!
By adding more peanut butter of course!!!
I will introduce the last flavor by saying that I am not a huge fan of Oatmeal Raisin cookies…
Too healthy for me?! Ha, just not one I usually go for.
This definitely wasn’t a bad cookie, just not my top choice.
A little dry, and I was hoping for a little more cinnamon and raisins, but this was definitely the heartiest of the bunch!
Overall thoughts? These cookies are pretty darn good!! Are you going to pass them off as real, homemade cookies? Probably not. They are protein cookies.
The texture is good! No weird aftertaste and not overly sweet.
I will say that I prefer these over 2 other name brand protein cookies (which I won’t mention..)
